Matthieu Longuère MS is originally from Bordeaux where he studied catering at college for six years. Since moving to England in 1994, he has worked as Head Sommelier at Lucknam Park near Bath, Hotel du Vin in Bristol and La Trompette in Chiswick.

Since 2013 he is the Le Cordon Bleu’s Wine Development Manager at their school in London, where he has developed and is teaching on their own Level 4 Diploma in Wine, Gastronomy, and Management.

While working full time on the floor, he tried to better himself by entering competitions and taking exams: semi-finalist at the Best Sommelier of Europe Competition 2010, he won the UK Sommelier of the year competition Trophée Ruinart in 2000, passed the WSET Diploma in 2002 and became a Master Sommelier in 2005.
