As Wine Director at Raffles London, Arnese uses his expertise to design the wine list for Mauro Colagreco, supervising the entire wine programme for Mauro Colagrecco at Raffles London at The OWO, Mauro’s Table, Saison, as well as the wine selection for The Drawing Room, The Spy Bar and The Guard’s Bar & Lounge. Originally from Napoli, Arnese developed a keen interest in wine from a young age, when his grandfather made him try his homemade wine at the age of five. Prior to joining Raffles London, he was Head Sommelier at the famous 3 Michelin star Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. He has worked for prestigious hotels in Switzerland, Australia, and England, including The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park working as Head Sommelier and Wine Buyer at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. Arnese relocated to Melbourne in 2012, where he worked for some of the most respected establishments including, Vue de Monde, one of Australia’s finest gastronomic restaurants. He holds his WSET Diploma and successfully passed the Advanced examination of the Court of Master Sommelier. He was also the winner of the Bellavita/UKSA ‘Best Sommelier UK’ in 2015 and was runner up of the 2019 UK Ruinart Sommelier Challenge, as well as achieving Taittinger's UK Sommelier of the Year in 2022.
